Oh Mother Russia, you ironically lack any maternal instincts. In Sibera “officials” found this ‘feral’ abused 5-year-old girl that was apparently raised by cats and dogs. She lived in an flat apartment with her parents, but they basically just left her in a room full of pets and avoided interaction with her. She barks and hisses, but can understand Russian, while she cannot speak it. She doesn’t use utensils to eat, she just mushes her face into a plate. She walks on all fours.
It’s really fucked up, I would notice if my kid was becoming a werewolf, but apparently they could not see the signs.
Police said that the girl had had a lack of contact with humans, despite sharing the three-room flat with her father, grandmother, grandfather and other relatives, the Ria-Novosti news agency reported.
The girl, known as Natasha, is now being monitored by psychologists in an orphanage. She has the appearance of a two-year-old, although police have established that her real age is 5.
The child refuses to eat with a spoon, insisting on lapping up her food straight from the plate, and has taken on many other behaviours of the animals with which she lived, police said.
“When carers leave the room, the girl jumps at the door and barks,” the police said.
I always found it interesting, people say animals are stupid. However…
DOGS CAN UNDERSTAND HUMANS. HUMANS CANNOT UNDERSTAND DOGS.
We cannot understand any other animals for that matter. Most animals can understand a few basic commands. But maybe we can, maybe we just never bother to? I wonder if this girl can actually understand and on some level communicate back with these animals via barks and whatnot. The human mind picks up so much, body language, facial expressions, tone… these are all individual processes that our brain is wired to do.
So maybe if we were forced to adapt to environment with non-linguistical creatures we’d have a more heightened ability to pick up on tone and the other ways in which animals communicate to each other.
On a completely different note… this is retarded. How is One Tree Hill still on the air?

I’m gonna venture to guess you didn’t grow up with a dog. Even interacting with a cat, kids tend to be a little more socially adept If their human interaction is also steady and extended outside the family on the farm. ‘Studies show’.
But semantically/socially that kid’s fucked. 5 years of malnutrition and no human interaction is irreversible. Mega uber fucking sad.
As for One Tree Hill you’re on your own.
Feral kids are so darn sad. The brain’s development during those years is so crucial, and without human input the kid is pretty much done in terms of any chance at a normal life. It’s child abuse in that sense. Without enough human attention the kid’s left permanently damaged.
As for understanding animals the truth is they’re still animals. Even if we grew up among them we don’t have the same faculties. Much of animal communication is through scents and sounds humans can’t smell or hear. It’s just impossible for us to understand, as much as we might like to.
