W.
OK, so I saw W. the Oliver Stone movie (about George Bush Jr. in case you’re living under a rock.) It was pretty damn good and unbiased as a probably, fairly liberal, director can be. It was basically a subtle criticism of the Bush Administration itself, while painting a pretty “honest” picture (how can anyone really know the truth) of Dubayah.
e.g.: A lovable fuck up with daddy issues that got to the American Throne by his happy-go-lucky charm as opposed to his credentials.
There are times in the movie where you’ll go “aww poor, Bushy,” which is a good thing in terms of the quality of the movie’s storytelling, I mean this guy is often compared to Satan. The movie was fact checked scene by scene so if you are questioning its accuracy you can find out how biased the movie is for yourself.
The humor in the movie is really subtle, I don’t think you necessarily have to have a vast knowledge of politics but it would do you some good to google who everyone in the movie is if you are completely uninformed.
This movie isn’t really political, it’s obviously satire, but it isn’t very expositional in explaining the political climate and what’s going on. I’m just saying, it alludes to some shit and if you don’t know it maybe this movie isn’t for you, but it’s nothing so far removed that most people won’t get it… probably…
