The season finale of weeds, how silly, am i rite?

Anyway I haven’t been updating as frequently because I have mono and am mentally and physically exhausted 95% of the time. I can’t focus enough to think of or find anything to write about.

I’ve been taking this lit class called Milton, Blake and the Bible so naturally we have to read the Bible. Now, I’ve never actually read the Bible, but seriously? This is it. I’ve read tidbits and know the jist of it, but sitting down and reading this book, C’MAHN. Anyone who believes in the Bible clearly has never read it and any part of me that wondered or perhaps even wanted to believe in a higher power, GONE. Gone!

What a silly book! If you believe in “US” I think it’s important to note that in Genesis the Lord refers to himself as “we” and “us” and was clearly polytheistic in the beginning. I mean, as you’re reading you can actually see Christianity being formed, how blatantly man-made. If you believe “US” you’ll get LAND.

That’s about as much bullshit as 40 acres and a mule and all the treaties we made with Native Americans.

Many of you might be saying, The Bible is just metaphors stupid. And a lot of it is. But the promise of land is not. Moreover, the amount of literacy back whenever was most likely scarce, no one could properly read this book let alone interpret it’s SECRETS. We can hardly do it now.

I’m not mad at the Bible. The Bible did nothing wrong. Many scientist believe we are often genetically inclined to have religious faith. That makes sense, evolutionarily speaking of course. We were a nomadic species and the only way we could secure a prolific future is if we settled down and formed civilizations.

The best way to do that is religion because it creates a common basis of conduct that all who believe in can follow. Religion aside from creating war, also unites people. Now that we have governments we don’t need religion. Right now I feel like in the course of human existence anyway, we are in an in between time, eventually I think, the Catholic Church will dissemble itself from lack of interest and funding. (Then Scientology will rule the world!)

My point is that the Bible is no different from any of the other creation myths like that of the Greeks or Nordics. I also find it interesting that throughout human history whole countries and civilizations just give up one religion for another. Catholicism only prevailed because Jesus was a nice guy whereas the Old Testament God was a wrathful cunt.

People believe in (and support) what they want. Supply and Demand. Jesus was the first capitalist.
